Participant Agenda

• To understand the principles of “being” a Networked Nonprofit
• To localize Networked Nonprofit concepts to an Arab NGO context, as appropriate, for improved project outcomes
• To identify ways to integrate “translated” Networked Nonprofit principles into social media training/coaching, as appropriate

1. Welcome and Icebreaker
Time: 9-9:45 (45 minutes)
Goal: To surface insights from Day 1 and set framing for the day

2. The Networked Nonprofit: What and Why
Time: 9:45-10:30 (45 minutes)
Goal: To introduce and begin to localize the concept

3. Social Culture
Time: 10:45-11:30 (45 minutes)
Goal: To understand the principle of social culture and how they might be localized

4. Simplicity
Time: 11:30-Noon (30 minutes)
Goal: To understand how simplicity can make social media strategies and campaigns more effective.


5. Listening, Engaging, and Building Relationships
Time: 1:00-1:45 (45 minutes)
Goal: To understand the basic concept of listening, generate key words for network maps, and be ready to apply skills learned about monitoring tools on Day 4

6. Transparency and Free Agents
Time: 1:45-2:15 (30 minutes)
Goal: To understand how and when transparency can support your goals and determine when it can undermine safety and privacy. To understand the concept of free agents and how to advise NGOs.

7. Shoulder to Shoulder Learning and Team Work Time
Time: 2:15-3:30 (15 minute break; one hour working time)
Goal: To write a blog post with some thoughts about what content they might localized and why

8. Reflection: One, Two, Group
Time: 3:30-4:00 PM
Goal: To help participants consolidate what they learned from the past two days.
