Participant Agenda

  • For in-country teams and partners to get to know one another and their networks and the project as a whole
  • To understand networks and their value as a social media trainer’s tool
  • To model and practice integrating use of social media tools to document, deliver, and share learning

1. Welcome and Introduction: From Me to We Network

Time: 9-10:30 (75 minutes)
Lead: Beth Kanter
Goal: To get to know each other

2. Project Orientation

Time: 10:45-11:30 (45 minutes)
Lead: Heather Ramsey
Goal: A presentation on the project partners, components, roles, expectations, and timelines and allow time for Q/A.

3. Train the Trainers, Coaching

Time: 11:30-Noon (30 minutes)
Lead: Beth Kanter with Mary Joyce and SMEX to present their sections
Goal: A high-level overview of the structure of the 8-day TOT by each of the instructors and how it relates to the coaching and the online community site and training delivery by in-country teams.

4. Lunch

Time: 12:00-1:00 (60 minutes)

5. Working as a Network of Networks: Social Media Trainers

Time: 1:00-2:15 (75 minutes: 15 minutes presentation/30 minutes exercise/30 minutes teams present)
Lead: Beth Kanter
Goal: Now that we have created a social network based on interests between individuals on in-country teams, we can build on this and create a network of our professional networks to support our work in this project.

6. Shoulder-to-Shoulder Learning Time: Documenting Our Networks on Our Blogs

Time: 2:15-3:30 (75 minutes)
Lead: Beth Kanter
Goal: To give each team hands-on time to set up their blog and write a post about the network mapping exercise to document it.

7. Reflection and Closing

Time: 3:30-4:00 (30 minutes)
Lead: Beth Kanter
